From their own two hands

Ta Daaaaaa!

Yesterday Little Man and The Princess wanted to make a cake.

Not just any old ordinary vanilla cake. No sir-eee.

This had to be the Franken-cake of all cakes.

I was booted out of the kitchen and they did everything.

Measuring, mixing, adding, pouring, turning on of oven etc.
And this is what they presented me with...

FRANKEN-CAKE

It has green, blue and yellow food coloring in it.

There was also one cup of shredded coconut and one cup of chocolate chips.

The only thing they forgot to do was grease the cake tin.

I had to cut the cake in the tin and use the spatula to lift it out.

That's why it looks rather messy.

But it tasted okay... if you like lots of coconut...

Well done my little ones!

Now, all I have to do is show you how to make a roast lamb and vegetables and then I'll be set!

  1. I'm with you, on the one about the roast lamb and vegies. I imagine the cake would have been sweet with 1 cup of coconut. My youngest just walked in and saw the cake and smiled and said "cool can we bake a cake like that". Well done to both your children on baking their cake, especially doing everything themselves. How about the clean up of the kitchen? Both of my children love getting in the kitchen cooking, but as for the cleanup, lets just say it takes me a looong time to cleanup after their cooking ventures.
p.s. the corn was yum, we are having more for tea tonight, but sadly all my tomatoes are being eaten by bugs of some kind.

I am with you on the roast lamb and vegetables, i am looking forward to the day my children can cook a roast with all the trimmings. How are your children at cleaning up the kitchen afterwards? I am still trying to train mine to clean as they go, instead of leaving me a huge mess to cleanup at the end!!
p.s. the corn was so sweet and delicious, we are having more for tea tonight, sadly my tomatoes are not doing well, some kind of bug i think.
