Hi - thanks for visiting my UK blog. I just love the way that folks all over the globe can share together so quickly and easily!
It's amazing how different all our lives are, whilst being alike at the same time. You're wrestling with lack of rain and scary winds, while I'm wrestling with wearing my DH's wellies to go across the rain-sogged pen to feed my chooks!
BTW - keep up the good work with your kids. It's hard going in the face of peer pressure, etc., but WELL worth it in the end! My girls were brought up like yours, and I'm sure sometimes thought I was the wicked witch of the west but the loveliest thing was when one started sixth form college(16) and came home saying how grateful she was that I'd brought them up the way I had, and that so many girls she met there had made a real mess of their lives already - so sad. Hang on in there, girl, you're doing the right thing and when yours is 32 (eek!) I know you'll be glad you did. x from across the globe.
The Last Post always chokes me up no matter how many services I go to. You'd think after all of these years I'd be able to steel myself for it but as soon as I hear it, I choke up and cry.
Lest We Forget,
ReplyDeleteGreat-Grandad died in 1916 in Europe...one of far too many.
