This is what happens when you get your sewing machines out to give them a clean...
You remember that pair of corduroy jeans you bought ages ago that are still sitting in the bag in the wardrobe...
They were a bargain at $40 down from $149.95 - they are R.M Williams and are such a great fit... except for the length.
Then again, I always have a problem with length and am accustomed to shortening all of my trousers.
So, then I made up a little drawstring bag and burp cloths for a relative's new twin boys (who are oh-so-cute!) but I forgot to take a photo of it. I got the idea from here.
And because I love Posie Patchwork's blog and would love to have a go at making some of what she does, silly me thought, "How hard can it be?"
So I gathered up some scraps from my scrap fabric bag and this is what I came up with.
It was going to be a bag but because everything was cut without measuring (why is it my things always go missing??? that's right, i have children!!!) it came out kind of crooked.
I had to do some trimming to try and get it into a square shape and decided it will become a (small) cushion instead.
I think it looks cute and quirky.
Not bad for a first attempt and I had no idea what I was doing.
Maybe next year I might invest in a cutting board...
I am not sure if i have left a comment or not, the computer did a little spin just as I had finished! Anyway thankyou for coming to visiting my blog at the little black cow blog and I have so enjoyed looking at yours. I love the 'no measuring ' sewing...now that is my kind of sewing.
ReplyDeleteSo interested to hear about your riding lessons too as I have just started riding again (and I don't remember anything from when I could!) .
Thanks for dropping by. I love the picture of the black cow on your blog. I love cows.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your riding, it's a wonderful way to relax. I would love to own a horse of my own, but that's one of those 'one day...' plans for now.
